Our Beaver Colony…

Beavers is about friendship, teamwork and learning by having fun. Beavers are aged 6 – 8 years old, and a typical evening includes a mix of games, discussions and badge work. Badges covering everything from camp crafts and science experiments to photography and sports, there really is something for everyone!

We encourage teamwork and developing communication skills in a welcoming environment. Beavers are presented with new opportunities all the time and learn not only from leaders but from each other. The skills gained in Beavers are used throughout young people’s time in Scouting and beyond.

No two Beaver meetings are the same, with the warmer summer months being used to take advantage of the garth at St Luke’s for tent pitching, outdoor games and an annual water fight. In the colder months, craft activities and guest visits all work towards achieving their Bronze Award: the highest accolade in Beavers.

We have two Beaver colonies, one at Broomwood Hall on a Monday night and one at St Lukes Church on Tuesdays.
