Cub scouts is for boys and girls aged from 8 to 10.5 yrs. A typical cub pack is about 36 strong, with cubs grouped into “Sixes” with a leader, the “Sixer”, and a deputy, the “Seconder”. Our members get their first taste of independence at cub scouts, they do activities that begin developing their teamwork, listening and leadership skills all in a safe environment and of course while having fun!
Cubs get the chance to go camping twice a year, with our easter and summer camps where they get to try camping out in tents, lighting fires, campfires and much more that can only be found out in the wilderness (a.k.a. just outside the M25!)
All of this does not go unrewarded, cubs earn activity and challenge badges for the activities they do and the skills they demonstrate. This encourages our members to take the experiences they have at cubs and grow them into interests, hobbies and passions.
We have a very inclusive environment, everyone is welcome. All our members have different strengths and we encourage them to learn from each other. We have so much interest we have to run two packs and it still isn’t enough! We operate out of two nearby locations, Broomwood Hall and St Lukes Church.
