This January Scouts from both 12th/14th Battersea Westside and 16th Battersea Sea Scouts joined forces to attend Gilwell Park’s annual Winter Camp, a.k.a the ‘Sub-Zero Adventure’.
14 young people and 4 leaders braved the cold and the mud for an action packed weekend with 2,500 Scouts and Explorers from across the UK.
With so many different activities on offer the scouts were spoilt for choice. Over the weekend, this is just some of what they managed to fit in:
– Laser Tag and Quasar Tag
– Jacob’s Ladder
– Bushcraft and Backwoods Cooking
– The Driving School
– Flight Simulator
– Fairground Rides
– Tank Driving
– Tomahawk Throwing
– Caving Bus
– Snowboard Simulator
– Argocats & Quad Biking
– 4 x 4 Off-Roading
– 3G Swing
After a full day the fun didn’t stop, with a giant Wide-Game, a Cinema and a Disco running through the evening. After that there was barely time for a hot chocolate before a cosy night in our sleeping bags.
Returning home muddy and tired, the scouts were already asking if we could go back again next year!
